Got a good base and Rab Vr which does the job for me, however old and dated GTX is tired. Looking for reasonable suggestions to accomodate mid grade scottish winter stuff.Not willing to pay daft money, but genuine suggestions for mid priced hard shells apreciated

If it's still in one piece, not full of holes etc., why not just reproof it with some Nikwax stuff for under a tenner?

Been there, done that on numerous occasions, shell now sheds water for a short time but becomes porous.

Try ARCO the industrial clothing etc place. They have sales and bargains now and again. I got a Berghaus interactive jacket last year at quite a bit less than rrp
