Can anyone recommend a good instructor/guide for climbing in Scotland in the Nevis area? I want to go out with a guide but have no idea who is the best. Thanks

In reply to alfonsobonzo: I think noted correctly that on a recent show Countryfile trusted their presenter to Mike Pescod, but I can't say any more than that, as I have never used him, or know anyone personally who has.

We used him last winter, well actually we booked a course with Alan Kimber at http://www.westcoast-mountainguides.co.uk/ and were given David Haygarth as our guide (he was working for Alan Kimber then), but now has his own website.
We found him to be extremely informative & professional, but at the same time friendly, chatty & a good laugh.

In reply to alfonsobonzo: Another recommendation for both Alan kimber's set up and Abacus ( Mike P.) - used both succesfully. Alan has a bunkhouse too which is a good base.

Andy Nisbet is other good choice.

But who ever you go with I am sure you will have a good time. I have yet to have a bad experience with a guide.
