I've heard that some kevlar and synthetic fabric lined B3 boots e.g Aku spider kevlar, Mammut mamooks, scarpa freneys can leave you with really cold feet if the fabric gets really soaked (but doesn't leak) and then freezes. Anyone out there with non leather or part leather have any experience of this in scottish winter conditions? Trying to decide on some new B3 boots for use in scotland and BC and i was going to go for some lightweight b3 boots but i don't want to do this and end up with cold feet standing around belaying.

In reply to yelloman:

I've got Raichle Degree EXPs, are warm enough for acotland and have worn them up to 5100m and have been fine. They are kevlar lined with Goretex Duratherm, which i was i bit dubious about at first but seemed ok now. AS warm as my Cumbres which i had before.
