Can you conquer eight 3000ft peaks within the Ogwen Valley in one day?
Are you and your friends ready to undertake a challenging event through the magnificent scenery of the Ogwen Valley whilst at the same time raising much needed funds for the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation?
If you answered YES then why not take up the Oggie 8 Challenge.
The 2010 challenge is being held on Saturday 7th August, and starts at 7:00 a.m. from Oggie Base in the Ogwen Valley.
The Oggie 8 Challenge is an event for teams of 4 people. The route heads up to the Carneddau where teams ascend, Carnedd Llewellyn, Yr Elen, Carnedd Dafydd and Pen yr Ole Wen. Teams then drop down to the brew shack at Llyn Ogwen before continuing on to y Glyderau. Here teams ascend Y Garn, Glyder Fawr, Glyder Fach and Tryfan, before descending to Oggie base for prize giving.
Entry costs £25.00 per person, and sponsorship forms are available on the team website.
