In reply to Tyler:

Yes....five minutes per problem, as many attempts as they like, four problems each.

Top five go through to the finals.

Winners determined by number of top outs and attempts.

£725 in notes in the Beth collection tin and a load of change, plus £250 in promises if Graeme keeps the Newcastle shirt on.

Great competition
Ackbar 21 Mar 2010
In reply to Mick Ryan - UKClimbing.com: I was never interested in competitions before and even thought of them as contrary to the philosophy of climbing, however, on reading Jerry Moffatts book I got a better understanding and appreciation. Watching this competition live on the net was really enjoyable.

Highlights were the really fustrating first woman's problem, the handstand problem, and Chloe snatching victory on the very last rock over move.

Hope they do more live streaming in the future.
 joe_alexander 21 Mar 2010
In reply to Ackbar: I was there yesterday (mainly for a days climbing and a free burger,) and stayed to watch. Was really impressed by climbing as a spector sport. I think the way the problems were set made it exciting with long moves as the final moves of many of the problems. I also enjoyed problems which were difficult to read as it made the comp a better test of the full range of skills in bouldering. Good work everyone and I look forward to the highlights vid. Joe
 Ian Dunn 23 Mar 2010
In reply to Mick Ryan - UKClimbing.com: How much was raised for Beth? The Junior Team were very supportive over at Team Training in the Foundry, I promise I kept the Sunderland shirt on all day, let's hope no one got a photo! Good effort on Graeme with the Newcastle shirt, I sent my £50 to the Finals. Can UKC keep us posted on this Mick? Cheers and thanks to all who have donated.
In reply to Ian Dunn: £1157 as of Sunday morning, more collected since then plus at least another £100 to come. Well done everyone.

Anyone with a photo of Squawk please send it to graeme@climbingworks.com
