I struggle to see how it will be profitable at only £2.
Will enough people get it?
"The Stanage Bus is supported by Sheffield Passenger Transport Executive, the Stanage Forum, the Peak District National Park and the Access and Conservation Trust (ACT)."
I'd use it if it ran later in the eve... same as I would the Snowdon sherpa.
I take it it stops at other stops along the way in addition to the ones listed?
Those are the official stops, I think they're usually meant to be pretty good for letting you jump off in other (sensible) places.
Yep - 5pm is way too early for me. In the summer I'd be more likely to still be climbing at 7 or 8pm, so I'd miss the last bus back by 3 hours or more. But I suppose for earlier risers than me it could work out OK.
You could always bet the bus out then hitch back. Its always been very easy to hitch back to Sheffield from Stanage or Burbage, less so in the other direction.
Odds of 2:1 ?;-)
Think there is an hourly bus from Hathersage if you miss the Stanage one. Nice walk down hill to bus stop or station.
Whatever happened to using public transport everywhere and walking to the crag?
