I have finally persuaded my girlfriend to start climbing, and she really seems to enjoy it. The only problem is when she falls off or has to belay me, she finds my old harness really painfull. I have been trying to find a womens harness for her but cannot find one to which will go upto a 39inch waist. Are there any womens harnesses which go up to this size or mens harnesses which are more comfortable for women?

In reply to oakapple: In reply to oakapple: Would suggest you check out both the Petzl Corax and Wild Country Synchro. Both work pretty well for larger people (they are unisex and very adjustable) and both sit towards the heavier but more supportive and comfortable end of the harness world. You would be looking at a Size 2 in Petzl and a Regular in the WC.
