Off to the Dolomites for the first time at the end of June, hoping to do some long multi-pitch classics, and need to invest in something comfier than my current Anasazi VCS to climb all-day routes in... anyone who's climbed there give a recommendation? Should I be looking for a stiff, supportive, climbing shoe shoe with maybe some padding and heel cushioning? or would a technical approach/climbing shoe, something like a 5.10 Guide Tennie, do the job as well or better? thoughts?

In reply to ripper:

Depends what you are doing of course, but I'd wear a pair of comfortable Sausiletos (board lasted) over socks for climbing and trainers for the walk off. I reckon comfortable boots costs 1/4 to 1/2 a grade off what I could climb in technical shoes and you don't half save time not having to ease them off your feet at every stance.
