Hey,
I tend to run pretty hot so I'm looking for a lightweight softshell to wear over an R1 hoody and maybe one other thin layer on winter days. I've never seen any Montane gear in person because I live in the US, but their jackets look perfect.

Does anyone have any experience with the Sabretooth, Krypton, or Dyno? I'm looking for low weight, breathability, pockets that sit above a rucksack hip belt, and a bomber hood. Thanks!

Have a look at the Patagonia Ascensionist jacket. Looks like it'll fit all your criteria, although the pockets are only just high enough!

On sale too!

In reply to Stuzz: I have a mate who wears an Ascensionist and swears by it. I wear the Dimension as it's a little warmer. To the OP - Montane are an excellent UK company who sell quality kit. If you can get it in the The States it's worth a look. I use the Lite Speed Jacket a lot. Dave S

Just got a Krypton and it's great. Won't be using it too much for climbing though as not very hardwearing.
