Advice needed Oversized / Undersized feet.

Need to ask some advice regarding rental or potential purchase of boots for a trip to the alps. Most of our group going to the alps have access to B2/3 boots at nil cost, however 2 of our party have ridiculous big / small feet. Size 14 and size 5 needed.
Obviously they don't want to fork out £350 for a pair of Sportivas etc as this is probably the only time they'll need technical mountaineering boots. So is it possible to rent boots in these sizes in places like Saas Grund and Chamonix. I vaguely remember a rental shop in Grund, but have no experience whatsoever of renting boots and wasn't even sure if they would do these sizes!!
Is it worth the risk of getting out there to find they don't stock that size?
