Hi there,

Has anyone got any recent information on ice conditions in Cham, Kandersteg and Brunnital (or nearby) areas?

I've been watching the positive temperatures lately, and checking out very patchy ice over in Austria and getting depressesd from all the sunshine. I know the temperatures in the west have dropped a bit, but has everything already been roundly trashed?

My information is second hand, but generally speaking, weather has been stable, sunny and daytime temperatures high. No recent significant snowfalls. That means easy approaches but ice might be brittle.

conditions are not great in Kandy but there's stuff about to do. Blue Magic, Rubehzal and Baretritt are in condition

In reply to troglodyte: I was in Adelbodan near Kandersteg last week, it was very warm before I went but the ice was very fat and amzing on some climbs. I've put an update on my blog

just got back from La Grave and freissinieres (which are 4 hrs south)it was very warm out there during the day, but at night it was below freezing. Still loads of routes in, some of them were a bit lean making them a slightly higher grade, but there is still loads in condition as long as there not in the sun. The day i left it started to snow with the promise by a weather man that it was going to get colder(but it could be anyboddys guess if thats true. have fun
