The Peak Climbing Club, in conjunction with the BMC and National Trust, will be carrying out more crag conservation work at Lawrencefield on Sunday 13th March.

The main quarry area between the Pool and Red Wall (including Gingerbread Slab) will be closed for climbing.

The Roadside Bay and the area left of the Pool (Great Harry, Three Tree Climb, etc) will be unaffected and still available for climbing.

As with last October, we are NOT asking for extra help.

If you're climbing in the area please keep clear of the works and keep any dogs on a lead. Thanks for your co-operation.

Hi Becky,
I was out at lawrencfield on Thursday and was rather disappointed by the number of trees removed from around the area from "three tree climb" to "gingerbread slab"(the former now has no trees at all so should probably be renamed now). Was there any real reason why these trees were removed? as far as I can remember they were health trees that didn't cause any real issues with making the crag green, were quite handy to belay from and above all made the place a pleasant leafy place to climb. Now the place is just littered with decaying stumps.
Please don't say that you are planning to do the same to the rest of the place.
