Does anyone know if the usual bird ban is on or, as sometimes happens, there are no birds nesting and the ban is not enforced?
Thanks, Pete

According to this it's on. Previously the birds were too immature to breed but last year they did so it looks like it'll be on for the next few years.

This was told to me by an RSPB warden last year. Got to say they are very good with access and review the situation regularly. If the birds are not successful they will lift the ban.

In reply to biscuit: Aye agreed, they are very good and will lift the ban early if the birds do not successfully breed.

Peregrines mate for life and use the same nesting site I believe so what biscuit says is probably likely.
In reply to Pete Chadwick:

It is on - sorry!

See:http://www.frcc.co.uk/conservation_birdrestrictions.asp

If the situation changes we will post it on the FRCC site asap.

In reply to Stephen Reid: Dam, I was hoping to get there soon. I looked on the BMC page a few weeks ago and it seemed confusing.
In reply to Lord_ash2000:

Which part was confusing? If we can improve the database info, let us know - it's there to help you, after all.

I just checked the page and it looked ok to me: Bird restriction 1 March-30 June, reviewed in April/May and restriction removed if no birds nested.

In reply to Dan Middleton, BMC: It seems to have changed now but at the time it said something along the lines of 'Its banned because of birds but all the bird restrictions are lifted' That was around the 5th of march.

Anyway, seems clear now.
