so as the title says, where can i take the gf where she wont be out of her depth. she's a solid mod leader has done a couple short vdiffs. and finds setting up anchors at the top stressful (!).

Brown Slabs at Shepherds Crag in Borrowdale, a few mod/diff/vdiff lines with sturdy trees at the top for belays. My then girlfriend did her first trad lead there, seemed like a good choice.

See ^^^. A pretty safe option.

In reply to franksnb: looked at brown slabs, thanks
In reply to franksnb:

Glaciated Slabs is a, probably less polished, alternative. If you don't mind going slightly further afield then Grey Crag in Buttermere may be worth a look.

If she finds setting up the anchors stressful then nip round beforehand and set them up for her - ideally showing her how and why you do anything.

In reply to franksnb: if it's damp in Borrowdale (unlikely, I know) you could head round towards Caldbeck (nice tea room for after-cragging cake) and try Headend Quarry http://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/crag.php?id=1268 It's a long time since I've been but I remember it being pleasant and unlikely to intimidate.
