Fire at Kintail, 3 kbTwo large wildfires have raged across the hills of Ross-shire over the weekend, causing widespread damage to two of the National Trust for Scotland's key mountain properties, the Torridon and Kintail & Morvich Estates. The fire in Kintail is still burning freely.

In reply to UKH News: I was on Rum for a few days and missed all the fun. I saw a very big fire from the boat yesterday evening - seemed to be on Ardnish, or near Rois-Bheinn. I thought it might be deliberate heather burning, but then I came home to the news from Torridon and Kintail. Can anyone shed any light?
