So there I am looking at magazines in WH Smiths and I spot the cover of Vertical with a headline....

"North Face of the Droites: Drytooling does it again"

Instantly attracted to it being a drytooler and all that. Quick read of the article (well i wasnt gonna buy it for £5!) and the short and long of the article was that this new route could not have been climbed without drytooling and what was even more interesting was that the author clearly defined the sections of the climb that were drytooling as opposed to mixed climbing.

I find it refreshing that climbers and knowledgable publications like vertical can actually see why drytooling should not be this almighty evil and is a valid form of climbing (hell...a sport in itself in fact!) when done in the right places.

i stand ready (ice axe in hand) for a flaming....

On a side note, dry-tooling has been done in the mountains for decades. Nothing new here.
