I know, I shouted.
My old PC blew up 2 hours ago. It's dead. I've lost all my cookies, and I can't find out how to get 'em back?
Can you boot 'em down to me, please????

Thanks,

Just post again, putting in your original name and email address I think. Should generate you a new cookie.

Tay Tay's Buttermilk Buscuits

Sift Together:

2 cups flour
2 heaping tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
Add:

4 heaping tbs solid shortening

Blend with a pastry cutter while turning bowl until the mixture looks like fine cornmeal.

Add:

1 cup of buttermilk (more if dough is too dry)

Stir with a fork just until dough holds together. Shape in a ball and place on floured board. Roll out with rolling pin about 1/4" thick and cut with buscuit cutter.

Bake at 475 deg (F) for 8-10 min.

In reply to Vdiff Dave:
Posh get, shortening, LARD for fooks sake. What sort of flour? where do you get buttermilk?
Tip. to mix butter or fat into flour with hot hands, use two knives and draw them across each other till the fat is breadcrumbs a la prue leith.

In reply to sutty:

Lard causes fat arse woman syndrome. If I used lard I would have to eat them all before SHE got hold of them.
