Just got back from the camping in the Lake District.
My girlfriend somehow managed to get oil on both my waterproofs
One of them is a gore-tex Berghaus... the other is a North Face Resolve (Hyvent material). She then used fairy liquid to clean it off the North Face, I just wiped down the Berghaus with a lot of water to get as much off as I could.
Does anyone know how this would affect the materials and if it will damage the waterproofing? And if so, is there anything I can do to regain this or clean them?
In reply to MrPeriPeri: Localized cleaning with fairy was probably the best thing you could have done to it as it's a very pure soap. As has been said, use a sponge and clean the area with a tech wash solution and then bung it in a wash.
