It's not super close, but Jashan restaurant in Turnpike lane is one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever been too (including in India).
There's only 2 problems - you've probably already gone out, and I believe it's shut on Mondays :-)
Maybe next time.

In reply to jhw: The pub down the road is recently under new management - used to do Thai food and now does slightly pricier gastropub type stuff. About 10 for a steak I think. Forgotten what it's called but just turn left and it's just past the bus stop on the other side of the road.

In reply to fk2005: Shame, sounds like it's gone "Stokey", quite liked it rough and ready. And the Thai food was good too.

I wonder if it's now run by the same lot that do the Birdcage and the Three Crowns amongst others?

In reply to Steve John B: It was the Brownswood Park Tavern btw, Google tells me it's now "The Brownswood".

In reply to jhw: LMNT near dalston junction, amazing food, amazing price and amazing deco. Oh and if easily offended by serious pornography do not enter the toilets.
