Taken over the last couple of nights, well worth a look:

In reply to Toby S: Nice photos, they look incredibly clear. A rep from my company is staying there at the moment. Lucky bugger.

In reply to Toby S: What time of night was that? I went out hunting them here in T.heim but could only see a boring cloudy smudge.

Excellent pictureset by the way!

Should have said they weren't taken by me! Much as I'd love to take the credit. If you look for 'Europie Tearoom' in facebook you'll get a bit more info. I grew up in the area and I don't think I was ever lucky enough to see them that bright.

In reply to Toby S:
Apparently the Aurora was also seen in South Wales that night. Everywhere else seems to have been cloudy

Yeah I'm with aurorawatch and they sent me an email showing a red level (which means strong activation)

I figured you may be able to see them quite south but south wales is very south.
In reply to Toby S: Driving through the Borders last night I thought the Glasgow glow looked unusually strong. Maybe...

In reply to dan:

If you like being smashed to bits up against the cliffs

Actually the beaches at Port Nis and Eoropaidh might be pretty good, cold though!

In reply to Toby S: Ahh, I spied some waves in the bottom of one of your pics!
