The next Peak Area Meeting is on Wednesday 23 November, starting at 7.30pm, at The Maynard, Main Road, Grindleford, Derbyshire S32 2HE.

The meeting also hosts the Area's AGM, as well as the Amazing Christmas Prize Quiz.

There is also our fairly new facebook page that you are all encouraged to 'like'. Find it here: http://www.facebook.com/bmcpeakarea

Probably a better bet for those of you that don't use UKC very often but still want to be kept up to date with goings on in the Peak.

Bit of a bump for the evening crowd.

In reply to Dan Lane:

The evening will begin with the Annual General Meeting (please let a member of the Peak Area Team know if you are interested for standing for any of the Peak Area positions or if you wish to nominate anyone - see the news letter for details)

http://www.thebmc.co.uk/Download.aspx?id=880

As there is a great deal of Access detail in the newsletter, the plan for the meeting is to have a very brief access update following the information in the newsletter (Peak Access news comes thick and fast daily)
and there will be an opportunity for anyone to volunteer if they should wish to (again see the newsletter for details)

...and then onto the Limestone Guidebook discussion. Following the last area meeting's guide update, ther felt there was a need for an area discussion on the way forward and how area members/attendee's can best help with the production of the new guides.

There is a chance I won't be at the meeting, but feel free to grab anyone else on the team for a chat over butties and chips...

cheers

Si

Don't forget to post some of the best quiz questions as I'll need some entertainment to help bear the jet lag in Malaysia.

Poor you!

I'm not sure I will know any answers this year apart from the odd peak bouldering esoterica question!

Have fun in the tropics...

Undoubtedly the most entertaining question was the "rock charades", get Lynn to explain/repeat !

Well done to Adam and John - excellant quiz

Impressive turnout as well - anyone count? Can't have been far short of 100
 Offwidth 24 Nov 2011
In reply to Chris the Tall:

Tall story...my guess is 91.

Sounds like a sandwich fight may have been on. Hope you didn't go hungry.
 Dan Lane 24 Nov 2011
In reply to Team BMC:

I counted yes, 83. Although i reckon a few more came in after i counted. so yeah, probably not far off the 100 mark.
Lynn BMC President 26 Nov 2011
In reply to Dan Lane:

Offwidth has cheated - I'd already e-mailed him to say 91 people had attended - according to Reuben! No 'bun fight' though, Dave T had given us the nod to increase the sandwich order - my only disappointment was that the vegetarian was mixed in with the meat - sorry about that. 'The management' put their hands up though and apologised.

Hopefully see you all in Feb. Wonderful energy on Wednesday - I hope this continues...........

Cheers for now, Moff
Lynn BMC President 18 Dec 2011
In reply to Moff:
