These look to be designed specifically for sponsored climbers to revisit their audacious solos on a rope for the photos. I simply can't see any other reason for them.

cool! would save forgetting your harness...but possibly it means you have to have a spare pair of trousers. though the 'package-enhancing effect' of a harness might make it worthwhile

and it would be brilliant for freaking people out!

Very good, or you read the press release!
"Have you ever panicked at the foot of a wall as you suddenly remember that your climbing harness is still at home? With the Realization Short from Mammut, this is now a thing of the past."

Bugger if your mate forgot the rope as well but maybe this is for next year!

In reply to jimtitt:

easier to forget your harness than your shorts.
That's what I told the judge, anyway...

{Sounds like a great way to freak out rock gym staff -- "Oh look, that newbie over there on the overhang forgot to put on his harness!!"

I would love a pair of them but at £165, I would just buy a couple of normal harness and keep one in the car.

In reply to Vince McNally: I reckon it solves the "does my bum look big in this" problem quite well

In reply to ashley1_scott:

Where did you see a price?

If they are that expensive it's a shame, I could be tempted by the novelty factor if they were around the price of a normal harness.

In reply to Luke90:
I spoke to the Mammut Uk sales rep.
I said I would be really interested in them for instructing, I asked some questioned about belaying from the loops as well as tying in.
I have to say that I was please with the speed of reply and the info that I recieved, the only bit I can say that let it down was the price.
However if father christmas wants to get me a late christmas present I don't mind waiting
