Following on from the success of the inaugural bouldering competition we are really excited about the next one. This time we'll be running the TCA "redpoint" format and the competition will be the first opportunity for us to showcase this alternative twist on the bouldering competition. Once again the competition is very kindly supported by:

Ellis Brigham http://www.ellis-brigham.com/
Scarpa http://www.scarpa.co.uk/
DMM http://www.dmmclimbing.com/

Categories:
Male & Female Junior (U14)
Male & Female Youth (14-17 yrs)
Senior Male & Female (18+)
Male & Female Veteran (40+)

Qualification:
Climbers will have an allotted time to complete 25 problems. Rather than having just one go at every problem, for this comp you have unlimited goes at any of the problems (within the time allocation). The junior & veteran categories will be decided entirely during this part of the competition.

For this reason the problems in this format are harder than normal, with the idea to amass as many points as possible, not necessarily completing the problems in the process.

Problems are not numbered in an ascending grade sequence, therefore you will need to use your judgement - ie the easiest route might be no 1 or it might no 25.

Tactics will play a big part of maximising your score.

Remember everyone can get points from every route just by pulling on the start holds!

Watch the time and check your score.

Finals:
The top 3 in the youth and senior categories will compete over a further 3 problems in a showpiece final on our competition wall. This will have a Bouldering World Cup/BBC format. Climbers will have 6 minutes to try and complete each problem, in as many attempts as they wish, in front of the competition crowd.

Start Times:
Doors Open 10am
Junior and Youth Qualification starts 11am
Senior and Vets Qualification starts 12pm

Prizes:
£500 worth of vouchers fund courtesy of Ellis Brigham, plus extra prizes courtesy of DMM and Scarpa, to be split between all categories.

Watch the blog on our website http://www.tca-glasgow.com/ for more information and Good luck!
