With just two weeks to go 4 places have been made available due to cancellation on this amazing trip.

Tucked away in the Kashmir region of the Himalaya lies the delightful ski village of Gulmarg. Easily accessed from the UK with flights to Delhi then on to Srinagar, this hidden gem supports a small ski resort and lift system (only one lift but all the way to 4000m) that gives access to some of the best backcountry and off-piste powder skiing in the world with the 8000m peak of Nanga Parbat visible on the horizon.

Renowned for its snow record, it has some of the heaviest powder snowfall in the Himalayas, maybe even the world!

It's not just the skiing, you'll experience the culture and hospitality of the region including a stay on the houseboats of Lake Dal combine to make this a truly memorable ski adventure of a lifetime.

Guide ratio will be 1:6 with a maximum of 12 clients per trip.

  • Clients will need to arrange their own flights to Srinagar from the UK

  • Visas are required - about £30 from the Indian embassy

  • Personal insurance is compulsory (can be provided by Campbellirvine.com, BMC etc)

  • You will have to provide your own skis, boots and skins (skis need to be a minimum of 95mm underfoot)

  • You will be skiing in the month of February up to 4000m so warm ski kit is advised

  • You must have the Holy trinity of off-piste skiing - shovel, transceiver and probe (can be provided by PYB) . We will need advance notice as this will be sent to you on receipt of a deposit for the course.

  • You will need to buy own lunches and drinks budget for about £10 per day

  • There will be very deep snow around the hotel so footwear and clothing appropriate to this is a must! (ie snow boots, duvets etc)

In reply to Plas y Brenin:

Haven't been skiing there, but one of my few (only?) claims to fame is that I saw a snow leopard cross the road in front of us as we were driving towards Gulmarg one December.
So it is still a wild place.
