hi everyone,
heading over to cham and zermatt this summer, i have a pair of scarpa cumbres which are awesome uk winter boots but not sure how they will cope with the hot and cold of the alps as well as the fact they are heavy, what are peoples experiences with these, good summer alpine tech boot?

In reply to robatkinson:

I took my Cumbres to the alps in summer 2008. They were also my uk winter boot. No problem what so ever.
They are slightly heavy, as you say, but not overly. Thats nothing to worry about.

I summited Mt Blanc in them, my feet were fine, not to cold/warm, again no problems.

Unless you want to shell out a fair ammount of cash on a ultra modern lightweight boot to save you a couple hundred grams, then your Cumbres are ideal.
