Plas y Brenin have teamed up with Scott Sports and Altitude Adventure to bring you the best possible introduction to Ski Touring.
This 'one-off special' is based at Altitude Adventure in the heart of the Pyrenees, where we can make the most of the fantastic local conditions and easy access. Altitude Adventure is based in the ski station of St Pierre dels Forcats (1550m), just across the valley from Font Romeu, in the Neiges Catalanes ski area, one of France's well-kept secrets. Within easy reach of three ideal venues, which all have different weather systems offering options in variable weather; you will experience the full flavour of the region, as Ian Pendry describes:
In the Camporells (hut) area there is just about every type of terrain feature you want including frozen lakes, rolling nordic, easy peaks with summits/slopes from mellow to extreme between 2500m - 2900m. The Puigmal area has its summit at 2910m and offers a number of ascent and descent options and lift access to some big off piste bowls. The Carlit region or the "Desert of Carlit" (hut) offers a number of peak options. All in all a great place for learning about route choice. For the first couple of days we'll be skiing off the lifts, and getting to grips with the delights of touring kit, bindings, and the art of using skins. With state of that art Scott Skis under-foot (and all included in the course price) you are bound to be impressed with the terrain that is now within your grasp.
Setting off for the huts, you will discover just how comfortable a night in the mountains can be and the true pleasures of ski touring (without the complexities or heavy packs of glacial skiing). Way above the altitude of the resorts, you can be sure of great snow and some fresh tracks as you 'earn your turns' and escape the crowds on a multi-day extravaganza.
But the real advantage of this trip is that it's a true team event - so everything will be taken care of. Scott Sports will provide the skis; PyB will provide the essential Off-Piste equipment (and the Guides with the skills to help you learn how to use it all); and our hosts at Altitude Adventure will take care of all the transport, as well as looking after us in the Pyrenees.

What's included
This is as close to an all-inclusive ski touring package as you can get, with almost everything you need thrown in, including:
