MTB shorts

Anyone use specific MTB shorts such as these:

Are they padded enough for a few hours riding or do they also need padded undershorts?
Any other models recommended?

In reply to kieran b: Never heard or seen those before. For "a few hours riding" I'd be looking for either shorts with a pad or specific undershorts.

I generally wear them over bib shorts but you can buy specific liners;

i am definitely not looking to wear 'normal' lycra shorts or bibs...
