Good effort!

Here's a little game - place the photo's in order first to last, based upon how strung out she looks!

Bloody Hell!

No wonder she has got 'the stare'!

In reply to UKC News: Frikkin hell! That looks intense! Inspirational anyway, but to be in such an extreme position and still care about trying to leave no trace is really amazing. Nice one Silvia!
In reply to UKC News:

Bloody hell, that is amazing. I can't really comprehend it. Congraulations to her!
 beardy mike 24 Apr 2012
In reply to UKC News: That looks totally foobar. The first pic tells you everything you need to know about the situation. Wired. For a month.

I'm speechless...

In reply to mike kann: I believe the correct spelling is fubar.
In reply to UKC News: I met her in Peru in 2008 after she'd spent weeks dangling on a new route on Huascaran. She was totally emaciated! Amazing person and, perhaps surprisingly given how wired she looks in the photos, very friendly and easy-going.

In reply to UKC News:

Mentalist! Fair play to her hardcore self.

Wonder if she's read about Matthew Medway-Gash's epic though, reckon she'd be impressed?

Almost as hardcore as Bear Grylls, though I'm sure Bear wouldn't have used any aid.

Fair play indeed.

Blimey. I think she needs to practice not looking scary in self portraits though.

In reply to UKC News: Beast! Any chance of a UKClimbing interview with Silvia?

In reply to UKC News:

I'd also love to read an interview with her. I can't even wrap my head around it, a month? Solo? Dead impressed.

...after a week trekking through dense jungle, then a week ferrying kit down of the top. Mind blowing.

Can we ask some of the questions? I'd be interested if she prefers solo, or couldn't find a partner with the time and experience she wants?

The last pic of her on a yellow camalot gives me the heebies, fair play to her!
 Furanco C 25 Apr 2012
In reply to UKC News: putting the mental back in climbing. Sage.
 Jack Geldard 25 Apr 2012
In reply to jonnie3430: Sure, I'll ask her.

There's an interview of her in Alpinist (part of their Solo Series) which you may find of interest:

Regarding her recent solo in Chile, Alpinist broke the news two weeks ago:

In reply to Jack Geldard - UKC Chief Editor:

Can you ask what system she uses for soloing please Jack.
 mlt 26 Apr 2012
In reply to Dave 88:

Wren/Rock Exotica 'Soloist' device using a continuous loop method if that helps. Apologies if this is teaching egg sucking!
 Mr Fuller 26 Apr 2012
In reply to Jack Geldard - UKC Chief Editor: Can you ask how much weight she lost during the trip?! It looks like month-long solos could replace the weight-watchers diet.

I'd also be interested in what food she had and what treats she looked forward to!
 Dave 88 26 Apr 2012
In reply to mlt:

Is that what Silvia uses, or a personal recommendation?
 mlt 26 Apr 2012
In reply to Dave 88:

Hey, it's what's shown on Silvia in the second picture of the article (and main picture on the front page) tied in to her harness and clipped to her chest harness.
 Dave 88 26 Apr 2012
In reply to mlt:

Ah right. Cheers for that, not familiar with it, I'll have to look up how it works. Thanks mate.
