/ A nice climbing video
Enjoyed that, good on them :)
Sweet video, pretty inspired to do some of that stuff.
Thanks for sharing this. A real good watch
very cool! a healthy dose of psyche :)
Superb - thanks for posting it :-) I am now officially living my life vicariously through the medium of video!
Fantastic, would love to get over there!
should probably get a bit better at multi pitches first though.
That's the business. Big wall climbers - coolest dudes on earth.
Quality vid. These chaps look like good banter to climb with.
That's a lovely film, really up-beat. Quite inspiring.
It's also kind of sweet - little bit of a bro-mance going on there. ;O)
In a very innocent and sweet way though. :)
I've been trying to get annoyed at them to justify my jealousy at the lifestyle I would like to share (how exactly do you do 'squeeze' skiing and mountaineering trips in between the climbing trips!? :) , but they both come over as nice chaps so even that's not working well.
Good work chaps. Cracking film.
Ha ha, same here. :o)
On the subject of the skiing - I'm very impressed with the camera technique in that bit, it looks pretty tricky holding the camera out on one pole like that but it gets great results.
I WANT TO BE YOUNG AGAIN !!!!!!!!
I am sooo jealous !!!
Brilliant! I really enjoyed that - though I must confess to being a touch jealous. (Lunch break over... back to work!).
Good on you both - inspirational stuff.
doesn't matter how old you are
get out and do it
Yeah, I'm jealous too. When I had the time to do it, I couldn't afford it. Now I could maybe afford it, I don't have the time to do it! Good effort!
> Yeah, I'm jealous too. When I had the time to do it, I couldn't afford it. Now I could maybe afford it, I don't have the time to do it!
ain't that the truth
Hate to disappoint but it is far from the case.
At the start I think it was more a case of making $1500 spread over 3 months in the US (inc flights), living as a climbing bum with the odd bit of finishing off people's pizza in restaurants.. After that they got jobs using their skills (ski-racing-coach/rope access) etc.
At the end of the day it is only attitude (or fear?) stopping you from doing anything you want.
Well that and families and mortgages and other such trivialities but I do agree with you.
What a negative (nasty?) statement!!
It's actually quite easy to do what thay are doing. Although I didn't do anything to the standard that they have done I managed numerous trips in the nineties on very little money. You just need a bit of drive.
3 golden rules:
Dont buy a house and tie yourself to a mortgage
Don't get serious with a bird - for obvious reasons.
Don't put a career before your climbing.
Excellent entertainment, cheers
Great film, really enjoyed that. Very inspiring.
Totally inspirational, superbly filmed and edited but most of all it completely epitomises what a really good climbing partnership is all about!
And the new bivvy ledge game of "Guess the spice drop"
> it completely epitomises what a really good climbing partnership is all about!
Although, to be honest, it would soon start to grate with me if ever time I topped out my mate just leapt off and left me to carry all the stuff down whilst he was sipping beer on the veranda.
Ive just watched Bear Grylls Scotland this afternoon, looking back to this vid and thinking how entertaining it is and how dank and transparent BG is.
Sorry to bring the name BG into this thread
To do that all this and live the dream does not need a rich benefactor. You just need to dedicate yourself to the cause, keep your possesions to a minimum, live simply and find short term work that pays OK and fits with the lifestyle. I've done it and know loads of folk who continue to do it on little funds.
Yep + 1,000,000
My god, I wish I could live such a life. How does one fund it???
> My god, I wish I could live such a life. How does one fund it???
It's not hard.
