Has anyone been into Lochnagar or the Norries more recently than Monday? Are cliffs hoared up or is there just a lot of snow? Seemed to be ice kicking about in Sneachda on Monday certainly.

About a foot of recent fresh snow blowing about on the upper Cairngorms!
The WinterHighland webcams will give you a good idea. Should be good skiing on Saturday....

In reply to Lamb: took a quick walk into coire an sneachda this morning no visibility still snowing and lots of fresh drifting snow waist deep in places turned back at the coire rim thinking that the gullys would be full and potentialy loaded should be great conditions if we get a good freeze at some point though

Same as davy_boy. Had initially hoped to do Fiacaill Ridge, but it would've been a massive undertaking to even just find the ridge, let alone climb it. In the end we walked about 3/4 of the way into the coire and then out again as there was no sign that the weather was going to improve. Of course as soon as we'd returned to the car park the cloud started to lift...

In reply to andyinglis: Was in Sneachda at the weekend. Route's were under masses of snow, but surprisingly dry underneath. No hoar on the steep stuff.
