I will be out in Salzburg in a couple of week’s time and I may have a day free to get out into the mountains. I will be on my own so I was thinking I may be able to do a via ferrata (klettersteig) or a mountain walk. Does anyone know of a good route that can easily be reached on public transport from Salzburg?

Any suggestions gratefully received.

There´s one in the city itself, City Wall Klettersteig. And loads around about, search on something like klettersteig.de.

It's worth scooting up to the Kelstein, pretty interesting place with lots of history.
