Escaping the UK weather

Just decided, going away this Friday for a weeks climbing. Had thought about North Wales as July is always such great weather!

Anyway, just booked tunnel to escape to France and, hopefully, better weather.

Possibly might go to the Verdon, but could be a bit hot. If it's not the Verdon, then a sport week somewhere.

Any recommendations? Never been to Gorge du Tarn, any good? Anywhere else SW France, near the Pyrenees?

Cheers.

Rich.

In reply to Richard White:

It's 36 here today but with a few thunder storms forecast temperatures are supposed to fall to the high 20's next week.
Tarn could be good - plenty of shady crags.
Plenty of shady crags here actually.

Cheers

Hi Enty

We are thinking the same...

Any idea how dry/hot it is Balme de Yenne?

Steve

Hi Steve,

No idea what condition the crag is in - I've never been anyway.

Weather for Aix les Bains area next week though looks like low to mid 20's with thunder storms Tuesday and Wednesday.

In reply to Richard White: Gorge du Tarn is being rebolted at the moment so a lot of crags are closed. http://ukbouldering.com/board/index.php/topic,20252.msg367965.html#new

Not SW but what about Ceuse?

vast amounts in that area and plenty of choice for different weather conditions

Cheers for the info. Did read about that but thought they may have finished the rebolting.
