Im going to need a new waterproof for this coming winter. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I like the idea of buying a PHD jacket, but im not sure what they are like.
Also as its for winter mainly Paramo would probably be good. Ive never used paramo, although I have heard good things. Is it worth getting? Can you really just stitch it up when I inevitably put a hole in it?
Any other suggestions.

Thanks,
H

Paramo is funny stuff. It's not waterproof, but the rate of wicking should exceed the rate that rain will penetrate. However, if you stuck your elbow in a puddle for any length of time the water would penetrate he jacket.

I really like paramo for winter, but I have read more than one report where people have claimed that the system has suddenly failed and allowed water into the clothing, so might be worth a bit of research.

Another vote for the Keela Munro - great winter waterproof.
The only jacket I've used that when it finally wore out went straight back and bought another the same.
I'm on the mountain rescue team and we have all liked them, with no complaints or problems - lots of jacket for the money.
