Bit of a long shot but does anyone know of anywhere that rents out large cams, I may have accidentally agreed to go and climb Mercury next week and I've just read what it's all about!

I dont quite see how this could work. Most people borrow them off a mate or buy and sell on afterwards. I know people buy second hand worn cams on ebay for more than the new sale price offers you can get.

You can't to rent gear for the same reason you can't return climbing gear to the shops once bought.

In reply to Mr. Lee: not exactly true, you can rent all sort of climbing gear although not typically specialist stuff like large cams.

I have heard of people renting winter kit, axes crampons screws etc, I'd have thought that this fell into the same category.
