Hi,
Does anyone know of the best areas for multipitch trad climbing or mountaineering in the french Pyrenees in summertime?

In reply to nikscott: The Ariege has plenty of climbing of all sorts. Nice high mountains as well, if not full-on mountaineering.
In reply to nikscott: Vignemale, Balaitous, Cirque de Lescun, Pic du Midi (d'Ossau), Ariege, Cirque de Lescun... it's all good. For classic long mountain stuff the Vignemale or PdMidi would be hard to beat

In reply to nikscott: I can recommend Ariege

In reply to nikscott:

Pic du Midi d'Ossau is great: huge mulitpitch stuff from VD. We stayed in Panticosa and used the old Derek Walker guide and also climbed around the town and at Riglos. Rained off attempting a climb in Ordessa. Brilliant area and more reliable weather and cheaper (then) than on the French side.
