Hi Guys!

Does anyone know of any good articles/theories that show issues in gender that affect participation in rock climbing?

Thanks!

There have been various discussions on here about this in the past. This one was the most recent that I remember http://www.ukclimbing.com/forums/t.php?t=506946
If you use the search option at the top of the page you will find there are various article and discussions that will come up.

Would be my guess.
It even explains why the gender bias becomes more pronounced as (UK trad) grade increases.

You've only got to look at the large numbers of women in equestrian sports to realise that assumption is wrong.
In reply to mfisher: As an observation from somebody who took a 20 year break from climbing, the number of women participating in climbing has increased massively and I would guess the trend is continuing - the break enabled me to see the change before/after, it wasn't lost by only seeing a slow change.
