Hi looking at soloing gable end on great end this coming winter ,conditions permitting,are there any crux moves on the climb that i should be aware ofand is it easy to back off if i had to.cheers

Is there a route called Gable End on Great End? or do you mean Gable Crag?

It's a 1960 150 metre grade 2 but there are better easier routes to solo.

There's no way of telling from your profile how experienced you are, and how well you know the lake district, but be aware that lakes winter conditions are very fickle. Though I don't know your route, I doubt anything anybody could say would be particularly helpful because the the answer to both your questions will be totally dependent on the conditions.
