 Topic - nepal adventure ideas

Due to some cancelled work I may have free month in Nepal from mid Oct - mid Nov.
I don't know Nepal very well and I'm guessing some people here do.
I looking for an adventure during this month. Ideally it would get me into the mountains, get off the tourist trail, be self supported, and cheap. It can involve trekking but doesn't have to.
