That knot's important

I am just on way home from Kalymnos and yesterday was involved in helping after a very nasty lower off accident happened a few meters away. Please do remember to tie a knot in the end of the rope (or better still to the fly sheet!).

or even better still to the belayer!

Absolutely - the myth of 'safe' bolted routes which are actually only as safe as the climbers.

This accident occurs with depressing regularity; people need to wake up to longer routes (especially abroad) and belayers need to watch for the middle-mark!
