Mrs The Dog and I are going to try to go to Kendal Festival; I really want to see some of the stuff on the Friday but MTD is on a school trip as part of her Teacher Training so I was thinking of maybe going up on my own and picking her up from somewhere nearby. Challenge is that TRains seem to take ten hours if leaving at 6pm on a friday. Can any of you clever buggers think of any option that makes this doable?

In reply to puppythedog:

It only takes 10 hours because she misses the last train from Lancaster, so you could pick her up from there... Only half hour or 40 minutes from Kendal.

Or the 1812 from Cheltenham, or presumably about 1800 from Gloucester, makes it on time if she can get out a little early.

Or we might be driving up, not sure yet, if a lift would be useful.
