/ Exploratory/investigative Norway and Greenland expedition 2013
I plan to go to Norway and Greenland to put up new routes and to investigate the effects of global warmung and climate change on polar and near polar regions!!!!
I am looking for a team of keen and brave climbers and mountaineers to participate in expedition with me!!!!
I am also keen to make first ascents in Norway and Greenland, it has been on my hitlist for a while now. What grade do you climb?
What system are you refering to?
Scottish Winter etc?
I climb F5+ but by then hopefully F8s or higher?
I think F8a is equal to Scottish VII/VIII mixed ground but not sure what alpine grade I can do!

Good to hear back from you! what is the hardest bouldering problem you have ever redpointed? In the end, redpointing hard bouldering problems is the type of climbing that is most comparable to making hard alpine first ascents in the greater ranges. They both have in common the key facts that they involve a year or more's worth of effort just to climb one route and there's not much gear...
I have been trained by Dawesy, Gaz and Neil G!
They say F5+ will be nothing for me!
The hardest problem was Font 4+!
But I am working on V1-V3 on slabs at The Castle on slabs and V3, V4-V6 on traverses to develop new moves!
So boulderig is comparable to alpinism?
Strange, summit post and camp to camp use sport grades in grade descriptions!
I have no experience at all, have pretty much only climbed in the Peak (apart from Botteril's slab last year) but would love to join you. Like most on here I spend all day sat in my office dreaming and wishing I was doing things just like this. If you want a keen and enthusiastic person to join I'm your man.
(If you want an experienced mountaineer or alpinist I am not!!!)
That photo needs changing as it is just a skewed version of the previous one!
Thanx 4 the reminder!
You are kind of person I need!
Be warned at night it can get below -35 degrees Celcius!
Yay another expedition, well it depends on where else in the world i might actually be.
And how much it would cost as this climber has no money due to going climbing :) haha

Who are you referring to as this climber?
As funds go there are several bodies we can approach!
The BMC, The MEF (Mount Everest Foundation) along with The Royal Geographical Society amongst others!
You can also approach outdoor shops and outdoor companies to!
I think most meals will be in freeze dried form then rehydrated!
Other options will be available and all dietary needs catered for!
Anything you want!
How much wine are you planning to bring?
I am planning to take an overnight train from London to Scotland then get a ferry from Scotland to Norway then travel to Greenland after work and climbing in Norway!
We can do some shopping in Scotland for booze etc!
