Alps or Scotland for the Winter? (Jan onwards)
Looking for some advice if possible please?
I plan to start winter climbing this winter with a view to taking on the skills I need to get into some serious Alpinism. I have managed to somehow engineer it so that I don't work again until May. Would my best bet be to travel to Scotland where I know 1 or 2 more experienced partners that I could tag along with but conditions may be iffy. Or should I head out to the Alps - I have a waterfall climbing trip I could join early Jan and then could hang out waiting for conditions/"perfecting" my skiing.
Maybe this is a no brainer question but my main aim here is Alpinism/Winter Climbing/Adventure and I don't know how easy it would be to team up with people in the alps especially seeing as winter experience is currently limited.
If anyone wants to partner with me in the Alps if I go then please let me know! My rope skills are hard wired, I'm a keen as mustard belayer and fit enough for the job.
Many thanks
Steve.
