On Friday 9th, Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th November, to celebrate the grand opening of our first and second floors, we have fantastic events planned for you! We are pleased to announce Andy Kirkpatrick will be joining us to deliver a lecture in his very personal and distinctive style!

Andy’s specialities are big wall climbing and winter expeditions. Andy has climbed Yosemite’s El Capitan over 18 times (including three solo ascents and a one day ascent); scaled a 1000 metre ice pillar on the west Face of the Dru (one of Europe’s hardest climbs) and undertaken numerous expeditions to Patagonia. Couple this with numerous tours and features on the stand up comedy circuit, and Andy’s lectures are as hilarious as they are profound, and not to be missed!

In association with Petzl, we will be hosting the return of our now infamous head torch climbing night. If you’ve not experienced one of these nights before you’re in for a treat! Bring your head torches along and join us from 7pm as we switch off all the lights in the centre and test out some of our favourite routes in the dark. On hand we will have representatives from Petzl showcasing their latest offering in the performance head torch market. The Petzl NAO benefits from reactive lighting technology to help maximise visibility and preserve battery life. A perfect addition to any outdoor enthusiasts arsenal; come down and speak to one of the reps for more info.

From 4pm on Friday 9th and continuing throughout the weekend, we will also be running Dry Tooling sessions. As the winter season approaches it’s the perfect opportunity for those of you looking to ‘sharpen up’ on your axe placements.
