In winter conditions.....how long has it taken people on here?
 Milesy 01 Nov 2012
I would say 8-12 hours depending on conditions. Deep powder snow being different from nice firm neve.

Thanking you. Am I right in thinking there is some soft deep snow right now up in the area?

I have not been up yet but any snow lying will be pretty fresh and likely to be reasonably unconsolidated still but there is a wind so ridges might be pretty scoured. Walking the ring of steall in white out getting sand blasted does not sound like much fun

In reply to An Triubhas: I was planning on heading uo there myself this weekend, but changed my plans and heading over to the east as it seems like it will be a bit drier and brighter.

In reply to An Triubhas:

It took us 10 hours last winter with consolidated snow only on the top 200m and nothing at all below that. Long day in winter.

In reply to An Triubhas:
It took us 8hr last December, with a mix of new and old snow. A great day out.

Two days, last time I did it (deliberately, with a bivvy!)
