It was scary the way it totted up your total saved game play. Loved it then, not sure I'd have the time to paly it now though!!

For the same reasons Freelancer got massively scaled back from dynamic economy MMORPG to static economy 32 player server gubbins, and Freelancer 2 won't ever happen.
Anyone excited by this should give Oolite a go to satisfy their cravings while waiting :)
