So.............

Our Southern Hemisphere cousins are coming up for their regular visits.

Predictions anyone............................?

Battle hardened after the Quad Nations or whatever they call it, it's hard to see anyone but Fiji or Tonga losing a match.

No idea, but SO chuffed we've got tickets for England/Australia next weekend! (forget the fact I'm a Wales supporter, it should still be a good match!)

Who are you supporting (I'm in a similar situation going to the England-NZ match)?
 Caralynh 06 Nov 2012
In reply to Kipper:

Well, since my husband is English, and bought the tickets, I suppose I'd better cheer for the home team. I've never really been one of these "anyone but England" types - at the end of the day, it's a game, and I hope for a good one. I did ask if I could wear a Wales shirt to the game, and was glared at.
So yes, I'll back the husband and the home team, but won't be as devastated as he may be if they lose!

Anyone know which tv channel showing these???
Removed User 06 Nov 2012
In reply to Steph-in-the-West: BBC, the times etc are on BBC Sport web page. The Rugby Union page which lists upcoming fixtures, International, club etc.

Google is your friend...........................

have checked it out - that's my weekends sorted for a while! As usual England games are only highglights

The Mighty Scots shall continue on their march towards the world cup title by defeating the only southern hemisphere team they have left to beat.

is this an appropriate time to ask politely that people do not post the bloody results in thread titles before i get the chance to see it on catch-up??!!

Thanking you in advance

I've got VIP tickets (the premier box + dinner with the players) for the Scotland vs. Tonga match at Pittodrie in Aberdeen.

Can't go though as I'll be away romancing the Mrs for her birthday...
Kipper 07 Nov 2012
In reply to Caralynh:

I'm going with a Kiwi (who got the tickets)

I'll be getting to see Tonga play in Colwyn Bay. Samoa play here this weekend.

In reply to coinneach:

I was offered tickets for each of the Big 3 v England, I'm off to the Saffers game at HQ.

I see both the Saffers and Cons coming unstuck at least once each, hopefully to the Hype. Remember there is added incentive this year to get in the top 4 of the IRB Ranking and thus be seeded for the next RWC.

I suppose we may as well get this out of the way early:

Not just one photo, lots!

It is getting a bit worn now, I'm looking for a cricket scoreboard to post on Sunday evening

I took my lad to see the humiliation two years ago (3 - 49 ) I think and I 'd normally take him up to Edinburgh for at least one of the games.

But bollocks to them this year. A couple of hundred quid to watch them get humped? Don't think so.........................We might manage to beat Tonga if it snows.

That's a real shame. How much did they set you back?

Aye, the All Blacks declared ;0)

Oh how I'll chuckle if the Hype implode this weekend. Off to watch Madagascar 3 on Saturday for daughters birthday............... Tragically I'll be in on Sunday.
 MJH 08 Nov 2012
In reply to the sheep: Personally I would have gone with Mike Brown rather than Goode at FB. Other than that seems a pretty sensible team to pick.
 the sheep 08 Nov 2012
In reply to MJH:
Suspect Brown may well feature when we take on the stronger nations. However will be good to see how Goode copes at international level.

You'll note that I have made no rash predictions regarding Saturdays game. Looking at the team it looks worryingly lacking in experience, plenty of banana skin potential. Wonder why Lawes isn't even on the bench, is he crooked again?

Hopefully Los Pumas can do the decent thing in Cardiff, while the Cons put the Frogs to the sword and create a bit of breathing space in the ranking scramble.
 MJH 08 Nov 2012
In reply to Horse: I think Lawes is broken again.

Argentina look strong

Ireland blew it

Scotland to lose by a shed load tomorrow

Perhaps we should suggest they limit the max score as per youth rugby ;0)

Deserved win for Samoa against the current Grand Slammers tonight..........

Bad news for Wales as the AB's are in town next week.

Welsh scrum destroyed by the Samoans

Any more upsets to come this weekend?

I see that the Irish are playing safe by playing as an Irish XV

In reply to coinneach:

One thing's for certain, when Gatland goes, I don't think Howley will be getting the job...

The only slight positive was Biggar, certainly better than Priestland at the moment and seemed to control the game quite well - when Wales had the ball that is. Priestlands default reaction is to kick, wouldn't be so bad if they were good kicks, but they are generally shockingly bad.

As for facing the All Blacks, I dread to think what's going to happen. Does the scoreboard go into treble figures?
 Shani 17 Nov 2012
Predictions:

England to crush the Aussies up front and push on to victory.

Scotland to receive their arse on a plate.
OP coinneach 17 Nov 2012
In reply to Shani:

Wrong on both points..........................

England played in to Aussie hands by wearing kit that made them look like a bunch of poofters!

 Horse 18 Nov 2012
In reply to coinneach:

Having not made any rash predictions I'll skip the pie this time round.

As to the shirts "regal purple" my a***, they were dark pink any side wearing that colour deserves to lose. I'll take the shades to next weeks game in case they are on show again.
OP coinneach 18 Nov 2012
In reply to Horse:

 Horse 18 Nov 2012
In reply to coinneach:

Hardly a rash prediction the Cons have come unstuck but against the French we await the Saffers slip up. To make matter worse for The Hype, France stuffed Argentina so look pretty secure for 4th spot in the IRB rankings. Unless hell freezes over in the next couple of weeks the Hype won't be in the top seeds for RWC 2015.
OP coinneach 18 Nov 2012
In reply to Horse:

That's ok...........you'll probably just draw our lot again.......

Did you do that mental downhill thing at Innerleithen ....?
 Horse 18 Nov 2012
In reply to coinneach:

No we were riding at Glentress, mainly the red route with added bits including the fantastic descent of Deliverance.

I have tickets for the Saffers and New Zealand games at HQ, I'll need to buy a few carpet squares to chew on and a bulk purchase of mansize tissues to dry the tears.
OP coinneach 24 Nov 2012
In reply to Horse:

Excepting a poor Puma performance SH clean sweep

Including Tonga v Scotland ( Will AR do the honourable thing and hand in his jotters after today's shambles? )

Thought not.
 Horse 24 Nov 2012
In reply to coinneach:

Proper test match down south, at least the result from the far North kept the midget Scot quiet on the way home.

Correctly referred to as "The Mighty Tonga" I believe.
