Hi all ..

I was wondering if any of you iPhone users have and use any of the Os maps / gps apps from your phone ? any recommendations ??

I have seen some standalone units in the shops , and i have a simple gps unit which does not have a map overlay but they do look like they would be useful …

Oh , i do know how to use a map , and have a compass , I know there is no substitute

thanks all

GridPoint GB is a really simple app that simply tells you your grid ref. I've checked how accurate it is a few times and it's always bang on.

OS Converter is a useful tool to easily change between OS Ref, OSGB36 and WGS84. This also allows you to see your position on a map although data connection is needed.

Highly recommend ViewRanger. Used it a lot for mountain biking, walking and MR work.

GridPoint GB is indeed simple and effective if you just want to confirm your current position on the map. I've recently downloaded this: http://ukmapapp.com/index.html which looks quite good but I have yet to test it in field conditions!
