Pant Quarry in South Wales is potentially one of the best limestone qaurry climbing sites in the UK. However it's also very much still a working quarry, operated by Tarmac. While they are more than willing to discuss and agree a long term access agreement for a future date (ten years hence?) when the quary operations are due to end, which will also enable the main climbing faces to be protected from quarry operations - Tarmac are explicit in that climbing is currently not allowed here.

There have been a number of incidents and altercations between climbers and security staff in recent weeks which have led to increased security and police involement and Tarmac have asked the BMC to inform climbers that climbing is not allowed here.

As always please refer to the BMC Regonal Access Database for up to date crag access information.
