Hi All

Was wondering if anybody had been out in the Wye Valley in the last couple of days? It looks judging by the weather websites it been quite dry for the last couple of days.

Other than being cold, do you think Wintours Leap will be in good condition? Ive not really climbed there later in the year.

Thanks

Sam

In reply to Sheffield Sam: Friend and I spent yesterday (Friday 16th) at Symonds Yat, trying (quite succesfully at times) to persuade ourselves that it wasn't raining - it was the sort of wet that is on the border between mist and rain. The paths are squelchy; rock that tends to be a bit earthy was slimy and 'orrible (Central Route) but we also also found some really dry rock (Parachute 2) where there is more tree cover. We had the place pretty much to ourselves.

In reply to BusyLizzie:

Contrary to most peoples negativity about SY, you can often find a lot of dry rock there when other Wye valley crags are minging.

In reply to Mr Mark Stephen Davies: Yes indeed - we had a very good day.

In reply to Sheffield Sam: Been today. dry as a bone. had a great day. inperticula one true path. a great climb. Most don't think the yat is worth a look for some reason, but i love the place.
