Hello!

I'm looking at getting some micro nuts for climbing in the UK. Would offsets be a better buy or just stick with the basics?

Cheers.

In reply to apd: Get some HB (dmm) brass offsets, they're probably the best all-round micros you'll find. Getting 1-6 would be a good range, from very small up to about rock 1/2 size.

RPs or the Metolius micros are options for a more 'normal' shape micro, but I find the HB brassies are almost always my go-to wire of choice.

In reply to apd: I got recommended DMM IMPs by a number of people, and, having bought some (1-5), I can say they work excellently, and apparently have a higher breaking-strength than a lot of micro-nuts on the market.

In reply to Madden:

I love my IMPs, they've held a few falls so far no problem (other than trying to get them out again after they've held a fall without trashing them).

I haven't used any other micros to compare them against though.

I only have a few of the larger sizes, but, I went for the BD Swedges.

In reply to apd: needlesports.com recommend a set of BD micro stoppers with half a set of HB (DMM) brass offsets... get your mate to buy the other half and you're laughing!
